ITALIAN and ALBANIAN ADVENTURE: August 1st thru August 12th -- Coming Soon. I'll be posting pictures, but let me just say between myself, Charles, Jim and Jennifer -- we took alot. I'll be dividing them up into Pompei, Sorento, Albania, Wedding and Rome. The first pictures are a few taken at Pompei and then I'm sure everyone wants to see the happy wedding couple -- Jane and Juri.
I'm sorry that most of you probably didn't even know a wedding was in the offing. Well, it's not like it was held across town or for that matter across country. It took place in Albania! The other side of the world and not the easiest of places to get to. Also a very expensive trip to make, so we really couldn't ask or expect anyone to make the effort. But we sure appreciated Sally, Jim, Jennifer, Carrie and Charles making the commitment to attend. Luckily, everything went better than we could ever have hoped for. Juri's family made us feel most welcome and we found Albania to be a most beautiful country with warm and caring people. They did not let us spend one dime of our own money while in Albania. However, it is still not a place I can recommend visiting without knowing someone there to show you the sites and customs. After the wedding we said our good-byes, we returned via ferry and overnight train to Rome for one day of intense sight-seeing. We started out at St. Peter's in the morning right when the sun was shining in from the east. Made for a couple of spectacular shots, I think. Early the next morning we boarded our 747 and made the long day trip back home. Sally and Jim were even treated to a bomb scare at the Rome terminal before their flight took off. Oh, what fun!
To watch the movies, I recommend "Right Clicking" your mouse while hovering over the movie you want to watch, then "Save Target As" to a movie directory on your own computer. This will take a while to download. Once on your computer, you should be able to left click and play.
