ART PARTY 2001: Janet hosted the 2nd annual Christmas Art Party which is always a lot of fun. What's special about this party is that it was a pitch-in with a show-and-tell afterwards. Everyone brought great food and great pieces of art that they have created or are working on over the past year to share and tell a little bit about. Everything from textiles, to bead work to fine art were on the topics of discussion and presentation.
Also here is Sharon McKittrick's recipe for vegetables that everyone seemed to really enjoy.
Indonesian Peanut Sauce for Steamed Vegetables
Quarter about 1 1/2 pounds of brussels sprouts, dice 1/2 onion and 1 C carrots. Steam. Mix sauce ingredients and pour over vegetables. Toss. Serve. Eat.
2/3 C peanut butter
1 1/2 t cayenne pepper powder
3 T soy sauce
3 T balsamic or any vinegar
2 T sesame seeds
1/4 C sunflower seeds
1 T honey or tamarind paste
If the seeds are not roasted, toast gently in 1 T of dark sesame oil over medium heat. Vary any of the ingredients to your taste. Enjoy.....good health to all!
