LABOR DAY AT THE EASTBURN FARM - August 31,2003: We celebrated Labor Day on Sunday this year. Though somewhat cool and overcast, it was still good to get together and see the corn and beans getting close to harvest time. Weeds had taken over close up around the house, but Jennifer and Steven were able to make short work of them. They got things looking presentable for the group photo. And then the rains came. It started in earnest after our noontime meal and brought our activities to an early close. This was Anna's first Labor Day at the farm and she was definitely the center of attention. Steven brought Booger, his new beagle puppy, and Mary brought Bose, so they had a lot of fun, too.
