Memorial Day Weekend 2004

May 30-31: MEMORIAL HOLIDAY. Had to commemorate a few spring flowers. They have been especially nice this year. We almost got hit by a tornado Sunday evening. Of course Dot went bonkers as usual. Insulation came raining down from the sky and landed in our yard from some location further to the west that was not nearly as fortunate. Our neighborhood lost power for several hours and you could tell where the tornado had touched down. Monday we gathered at the Benton County farm, where some major landscape work around the house took place. We had a few first timers -- Mike, Carrie and Erin, but they were quick to get the hang of country life. The weather was pretty windy, but mostly sunny. I hope they enjoyed themselves. We also got the opportunity to sing Happy Birthday to Charles which we haven't been able to do for quite some time. We should have sang to Chrissy, too, because her birthday is coming up real soon.
