January 6, 2014: Winter snow. Although not quite as bad as the Blizzard of 1978, this snow came in a close second. First, on Sunday throughout the day, we received about 12 inches of heavy wet snow. Luckily, I was able to keep up with the shoveling duties on the driveway; because, then a Polar Vortex brought temperature into the minus tens and teens overnight and on Monday. The news reported 30,000 IPL customers lost power. The City opened up 17 shelters.
We haven't lost power, so far, which has allowed me the chance to get caught up some of my web-blog posting duties.
